Your impact

Together, we’re making every moment matter.

Birmingham Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care for people living with a terminal illness.
At our hospice sites in Selly Park and Erdington, and in the community, care can include 24-hour care in our Inpatient Units, support at home, day services, counselling, wellbeing, pharmacy and therapies.

By signing up to Rainbow Rush and fundraising for us, you will directly support people like Joe and his family.

Kelsey's story

My name is Kelsey and I took part in Run Santa Run 5k, in memory of my brother Jamie who was cared for by the hospice a couple of years ago.

I completed the run with my partner and my two young children who are 4 and 2.

My brother Jamie was diagnosed with a heart condition and he was initially cared for in his home but got transferred to the hospice and was there for the last two weeks of his life.

The hospice was unbelievable in the care they gave my brother. He was in the suite at Selly Park Inpatient Unit and my whole family were able to visit him at the end.

The hospice enabled us to create special memories we'll never forget.

They made his time so much easier and ours too actually. They’ve gone on to help my sister-in-law and my niece and nephews since his death too.

Taking part in the event and fundraising was our way of giving back - for all the things the hospice did for Jamie and for us.

I would say to anyone thinking about taking part: you’ve got to do it, not only to support hospice care, but for the community spirit and for your own family and your own memories.
